The BD Loops E-Z Detector Checker helps door dealers pinpoint problems within a loop circuit. To test a loop circuit, dealers can replace the existing loop with the E-Z Detector Checker, which has an LED light that lights up if the device is being energized by the board and determines if the harness wiring is sending power to the loop.
This feedback will eliminate the harness wiring (or circuit board) as a potential problem within the loop circuit. With the press of a button, a dealer can simulate a loop trip (the same as a vehicle driving over a loop), and determine if the detector recognizes the loop. Then it can properly obtain and respond to a detection and that the gate is performing the desired function.
The E-Z Detector Checker tests the detector and harness wiring, two of the three components in a loop circuit. Although the E-Z Detector Checker does not directly test the loop itself, it will quickly eliminate two of the three suspects and allow for a quick diagnosis of the system. The E-Z Detector Checker can do more than just troubleshoot faulty loop systems. Some gate operator manufacturers use the device as a way to meet their Quality Acceptance standards before shipping the products. In addition, some installers use the E-Z Detector Checker to test and set timers on gate systems before the loops are installed.
