Access-Control Provider DORMA Acquires Florida Door Controls

DORMA Architectural Hardware, a manufacturer of access-control products has acquired independent automatic-door distributor Florida Door Controls, which has offices in Tampa and Orlando.

DORMA told the source the acquisition is an "important element" of expansion in key strategic markets, and will bring strength in end-user product sales and services.

"Florida Door Controls joins DORMA Automatics, Crane Revolving Door and Carolina Door Controls as an integral part of our long-term growth strategy for DORMA Americas," Wil VandeWiel, president of DORMA Americas, told the source. "The automatic door industry continues to provide us with a strong growth platform and one in which we want to accelerate our capabilities."

Based in Reamstown, Pa., DORMA Architectural Hardware offers surface closers, concealed closers, locks and key systems, exit devices, low-energy operators, fire/life safety, overhead stops/holders, access control, and pivots.
