Overhead Door Corp., a manufacturer of overhead doors and openers, has introduced the Odyssey 1200 and Destiny 1500 garage door openers. Both feature 3/4 HPc Power Plus DC motors, though the Destiny 1500 motor has the most power output of any opener in the Overhead Door product portfolio. The openers have opening speeds of 10 inches per second and 12 inches per second, respectively.
The solid-steel screw drives are connected directly to the Odyssey 1200 and Destiny 1500 motors in a patented direct-drive configuration. The operators also feature a 200-watt lighting system and a motion-detection system that will activate the lights in the garage. Additionally, a Safe-T-Beam System is included with both openers that stops and reverses a closing door if an object passes through the infrared beam. The CodeDodger 2 Access Security System included with the Odyssey 1200 and Destiny 1500 activates a new access code from billions of combinations each time the remote control is used to prevent piracy of the radio signal that opens the garage door. Additionally, the wall console included with the openers feature a light-activation button and a Sure-Lock feature that can restrict operation of the garage door opener when desired.
“These two openers have the latest advancements in power, speed and safety features,” said Gary Saletrik, director of product development. “They will also delight both homeowners and Ribbon Distributors with additional features and innovative, add-on accessories.”
For installation, the Odyssey 1200 and Destiny 1500 offer electronic limit setting and simplified programming. Their 3/4 HPc Power Plus DC motors operate at variable speeds for soft start and stop, and have ample power to operate nearly any properly balanced residential garage door. Both openers also offer homeowners accessory options and are compatible with HomeLink and Car2U in-car universal remote systems.
Odyssey 1200 and Destiny 1500 are available through Overhead Door’s nationwide network of Ribbon Distributors.
