Controlled Products Systems Group recently held two dealer open houses on the West Coast. They were hosted by the Corona and Escondido, Calif., CPSG locations on March 16 and 18, respectively. The open houses, which Controlled Products has been presenting across the country, have been billed as the CPSG Road Show and EXPO.

The EXPOs are basically a “mini trade-show;” designed as a way for local dealers to view new products, meet the manufacturers and learn the latest industry information. Controlled Product’s president, Brian Huitt, noted the success that CPSG SE regional manager, David Gulyas was having in his region with the EXPO program, and saw an opportunity to bring the format to other areas of the country. “CPSG is uniquely positioned within the industry to be able to offer our dealers national exposure to products, on a local level. The EXPOs have been a valuable way to educate, and contribute to the success of our customers,” Brian explains.

The West Coast events were a great success, with an approximate total of 200 attendees between the Escondido and Corona offices. Dealers came from as far away as Santa Barbara and Indio, Calif., with several vendors from out of state, including Florida, Texas, Nevada and Arizona. There were sales promotions throughout the day at each location, as well as prize drawings and plenty of great food. Several dealers remarked that they would be sure not to miss the next EXPO.

Chris Sperbeck, owner of Doorworkx, said, “I wasn’t expecting to see this many manufacturers; I talked to more vendors today, than I usually do at a standard trade show.” Both events had 20 vendor display areas. In addition to networking with vendors, visitors had a chance to see a full range of products, including safety devices, gate operators, accessories, and access control equipment.

Controlled Products is the largest wholesales distributor of Perimeter Access Control Equipment in the U.S., with 20 offices from coast to coast. For more information on the Road Show and EXPO events near you, visit www.controlledproducts.com.
