In order to help dealers meet the ever-growing, environmentally friendly needs of the marketplace, as well as capitalize on the newly announced federal tax credit rewarding homeowners who use solar-powered systems, Chamberlain Professional Products carries several solar-powered LiftMaster and Elite Series gate operators that qualify under the terms of the tax credit.

This eco-driven federal tax credit, named the Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit, affords LiftMaster dealers the opportunity to spec, sell and install quality LiftMaster and Elite gate operators while concurrently passing on savings to their customers. Homeowners who opt for a LiftMaster or Elite solar-powered gate access system are presented with the opportunity to apply for 30 percent off the total installed cost.

“With a rich history of innovation and a strong dedication to designing and engineering sophisticated solar-powered gate access solutions, we feel that Chamberlain can best provide and support our dealers with dependable, environmentally conscious gate access solutions,” notes Ken Roehl, vice president, marketing, Chamberlain Professional Products. “Now, with this enticing incentive to homeowners, we encourage our dealers to enter this marketplace with confidence due to the ease of installation and product quality that is synonymous with the LiftMaster and Elite Series brands of gate operators.”

Certified LiftMaster dealers have several options when customizing a solar-powered gate operator system including the Elite RoboSlide Residential Slide Gate Operator with optional “Solar 3” 12-volt power system, The Elite RoboSwing Residential Swing Gate Operator with optional "Solar 3" 12-volt power system, the LiftMaster LA412 Solar-Powered Residential Swing Gate Operator or the LiftMaster SW425 Solar-Powered Residential Swing Gate Operator System.

It is important for dealers to know that the tax credit applies to the cost of the solar panel itself, the gate operator, the access control device, the safety device and the installation costs of the solar gate operator system. The federal tax credit does not cover any additional costs of the gate itself as well as any work required to place the physical gate into proper working order such as leveling the gate, replacing hinges, etc.
