Gates and Controls Inc. (GCi) hosted the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Fence Association (AFA) for their annual Summer Fun Event.

The annual two-day event started on August 15 with the board members’ meeting and a meet-and-greet cocktail hour, and continued on the 16th with a golf tournament, tours of downtown Seattle and a dinner banquet.

Some of the highlights included the Chapter President Harold Hartley opening the annual elections. Newly elected officials included John Krueger of Metro Security Access Control as the new vice president and two new board members: Shawn Tomlinson of Gates and Controls Inc. and Jake Warren of R & S Automation. Lynn Hayworth, president of the AFA, spoke about the history and importance of the association.

“We are honored to be an important part of the AFA events,” said Loren Tomlinson, president of GCi. “The Pacific Northwest Chapter is a leader in our community and an important part of our industry’s legislation and education.”

Gates and Controls, Inc. has been an AFA member for 14 years, and this was their first time sponsoring the AFA Summer Fun.
