Each year, the Chamberlain Group is proud to honor students who excel both inside the classroom and within their community with the Duchossois/Chamberlain College Scholarship Awards. This year's scholarship award recipients are Anna-Paula Lopez, Charles Partridge, Joanna Smith, Eric Trine and Christine Willmott. The Duchossois/Chamberlain College Scholarship Awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by the children of employees at Duchossois Industries Inc. and its subsidiaries including The Chamberlain Group Inc., AMX LLC, Brivo Systems, Duchossois Technology Partners and Durasol Systems. This year, three renewable $4,000 scholarships and two one-time, $1,000 scholarships were awarded. Anna-Paula Lopez, daughter of Martin Lopez, distribution manager at AMX LLC in Nogales, Ariz., received a renewable $4,000 scholarship award to study business management at the University of Arizona in Tucson. A graduate of Nogales High School in Nogales, Anna-Paula balanced a variety of activities both in and outside of school. A member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, an Honors Diploma Candidate, Student of the Month and on the Principal’s List, Anna-Paula is also a Humane Society volunteer, lifeguard and swim instructor. Charles Partridge, son of Chuck Partridge, member of the technical staff at AMX, LLC in Richardson, Texas, received a renewable $4,000 scholarship award to study music business at Dallas Baptist University. Charles graduated from Wylie High School in Wylie, Texas, where he was a chaplain of the school band, member of the National Honor Society and received an Academic Achievement Award. When not in school, Charles participated in the State Solo and Ensemble, was a leader of the Youth Praise Band at FBC Wylie and traveled to England and Germany for a mission trip. Joanna Smith, daughter of George Smith, senior firmware engineer at AMX, LLC in Richardson, Texas, received a renewable $4,000 scholarship award to study computer science at the University of Texas in Austin. A graduate of Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas, Joanna was a member of the French National Honor Society and Amnesty International. Joanna has also been commended by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and was a University Interscholastic League Regional Qualifier in Computer Science. Eric Trine, son of Steve Trine, project manager at AMX, LLC in Richardson, received a one-time $1,000 scholarship award to study chemical engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. Eric graduated from Keller High School in Keller, Texas, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and German Honor Society. Eric’s interest in ice hockey earned him a Keller JSD Ice Hockey Scholarship. Christine Willmott, daughter of Colin Willmott, Director, International Garage Door Opener (GDO) liaison at Chamberlain in Elmhurst, Ill., received a one-time $1,000 scholarship award to study education at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. As a graduate of Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill., Christine was on the Green Honor Roll and her interests include science, art history, traveling and sports. Christine’s love of sports landed her a spot on the All State field hockey team. She will continue to improve her skills playing for Slippery Rock University’s field hockey team.
